We completed a job for new client C-Tec before christmas. We were asked to source some interesting and useful promotional items that the C-Tec team could send out as christmas presents. After sourcing some pretty unusual items (Louise really wanted them to go with the desktop garden!) they settled on the engraved maglites.

We are now well through our big annual project for bed manufactuer Sweet Dreams. The big (and i mean BIG) brochure is on press as i type with plenty of work still to do.
The stylying and layout of book 11 might be done and dusted but the preperations for the Interiors show at the NEC continue ready for the shows opening on the 23rd of January.

From the start of January we have a new addition to our little herd!
 With the installation of several heat presses and vinyl cutters, Little Pony Promotions is our latest venture. Louise has been hard at work getting to grips with all the machinery and produced her first few ranges before christmas. We can still source all kinds of promotional items as before but now we have the added bonus of being able to produce short run items in house, ideal for our smaller customers. Our new website will be up and running soon with all our products on so watch this space! Sunday, January 2

Finished and printed this week is the promotional literature we have been working on for St Paul's Amateur Players in Adlington.
We provided a full suit of leaflets, large and small for the group to advertise their next production. Jill Heeks says "I'm really impressed!! The quality and efficiency of this job has been fantastic - I only do St Paul's posters and printwork as a hobby and have to fit copy writing/ proof reading etc into my spare time and the Jack & The Beanstalk work has been the most stress free job I have done for them - and that is completely down to yourself - accurately interpreting my brief and producing work extremely quickly to the exact standard we are looking for." Completed project - Telford Show

Last week was a bit manic for anyone who passed through studio as we helped client Sweet Dreams prepare for the Telford Bed Show.
We produced a full suit of literature, including flyers and posters along with some prototype Point of Sale boards and even printed Pillowcases. The show was a great success and now we are starting on the preparation for the Interiors Show in January!

We recently finished a project for new client, De Vere Venues. They were hosting a celebrity, charity event in aid of Variety Club and Gloves at Whites Venue.
We produced the event programme, raffle and entry tickets and we were pleasantly surprised to see our artwork on the big screen most of the evening! It was a great event that raised a significant amount for both charities, although there was some dodgy dancing going on later in the evening!

This week saw the completion of the website for Jennifer. You may have seen James Edginton and his Father performing on Britains got Talent as Father and Son. They might not have won but htey have done something far more worth while!

Louise started on September 1st on a Blackburn College apprentice scheme. With a design qualification under her belt already and keen to get stuck in, she will be a great asset to the studio. Louise will be working on general design projects along side me, and I am to get her set up in couple of areas of her own within the company that I don't currently work in. So remember next time you call and launch into an explanation (you know who you are - there are plenty of you :) ) that I might not be the one who answers the phone!

This week was all go - and slightly vanillary, to get the promotional stock ready for new clients - Cats Paw Sanctuary. Cats Paw held their open day on Sunday and wanted something a bit different to sell on the day to help raise some funds for the sanctuary.

Tuesday night saw a mad dash over to The Wild Boar Hotal in Cheshire to get their new banner fitted before the rain came down. We managed it, just!

The A3 Xerox Digital press means I can now produce over 70% of your print needs in house, which means, better quality control, faster turnaround and cheaper prices! It also means that there is now no minimum run, so if you want to just do 10 business cards for a presentation then you can! I am going to provide an express service on certain products such as business cards and flyers where the paper is already in stock, so providing the artwork is print ready, these jobs can be produced for next day collection/delivery. From June 1st 2010 Bighorse Design will be able to take payment by card!
Partly because I do have issues with cheques but mainly down to client request, the nice people at Barclaycard have supplied me with a card machine. You will now be able to make card payments over the phone or in person when you come to pick up/place your order. From June I am going to be phasing out cheques as a method of payment.
